Yeah, its sad that HP.com is gone. And its even more sad that PO.com is now a paid site. As far as I'm concerned we lost both boards on 8/14/02. Those who pay the $6 will find less knowledge on that board. He had 17,000 members now he only has a few hundred. Those who pay will suffer b/c there will be less people to talk to/get knowledge from. So in essance, you're paying more, for less. :wtf:

I have an e-mail I sent to him to. I wasn't impressed with the responce I got.

Personally I don't object to paying for web boards. It helps to ween out the people that have nothing to offer. I'm sure there's a bunch of work that goes into these boards so why not get a little money back. Yes I'm sure some good people will be lost between the two boards changing but there's not too much else that can be done.

ween out people that have nothing to offer? how do you think the site got to 17,000 members. 70% had nothing really to offer, but were there to gain knowledge of their car. They lost most of their members by the move they just made.

I guess its better to have 500 members and stay up, then to have 17,000 and have to close down.

a website such as this one cost between 500-1000 a month to run.. with the influx of people registering.. it would be costing PO.com A LOT more b/c HP.com shut down... the owner of PO.com already pays out of his pocket for everything the sponcers don't cover.. and as far as knowledge.. the mods are mods for a reason.. we know what we're talking about and are able to answer most any question you all post.. so we're not really TOO worried about knowledgable members still in existance...

Yeah its sad to see hp.com go, it was nice to look at other peoples set ups. And as po.com going as a pay site good luck with them.

hopefully the balance will even out and there will be a healthy balance between HAN and PO so PO can lift its membership dues.

thats a pretty arrogant thing to say...not all moderators knows their stuff as well as other members...example, some guy is asking on whether to keep a h23 or go with h22 for autox...<== wants to build his car for autox and one of the moderators answered with keep the h23 and go turbo......tell me if that makes any sense......and another thing what their job is to keep the nonsense at a certain level but lately, more and more nonsense is coming from new members...so i hope that people that turns into moderators actually knows their stuff rather than making a thread of certain BS subject...
