Default Why was 4WS stopped?

I searched the forums but couldn't find my answer. It seems the electronically controlled 4WS was really helpful in the 92-93 preludes, but why did they stop?

Honestly, I used to own a '93 SI w/ 4ws, and I now own a '93 SR (canadian version of si), but it is not equipped w/ it, and I honestly cannot tell any diffrence at all whatsoever.

It made the rear end twitchy and unpredicatable.
Honda replaced it with LSD's which do a better job.

That's what I've heard at least.

You wouldn't notice unless you push your car hard through corners.

It is most noticeable under 18 mph. There is a noticeable difference in my opinion.

Nope, not true. The price for a 4WS Si was too much for what you got. It was pretty much the same price as a VTEC Prelude.

Poor sales is the reason why they got rid of it. Yes, it was still produced in Europe in the 5th Gen.

i have an 88 prelude wit 4ws and i can say its alot different than driving like a civic or integra. the steering is so touchy. and it is noticeable when ur trying to make a 3 point turn or u have to turn reali quick, it helps alot. The reason why they stopped is because of poor sales. honestly, i love 4ws, i get comments all the time when i have people sitting in the back and they can actually feel the back end feel like it kicks out. Other than that i wanna see someone try and stick on my ass when i turn a corner doing about 80. LOL

The 4ws was real touchy at high speeds, the slightest touch could throw the car off the road. Dodge made a stealth like that once and all it was good for was doing perfect circles.

Ah, yes.... the Dodge Stealth R/T and Mitsubishi 3000 GT-S

Those were not bad performance wise, but boy did they have reliability problems.
