I installed a AEM Short ram air intake on my 99 lude. It was brand new and $30 bucks from a freind.

Installed properly plugging the vacume line on the intake manifold and so on.

It is loud as sh*t.........really. Is it supposed to be?? Definately when v-tec kicks in. I've installed AEM intakes on my old civics all the time...they were never this loud...Is it just the H22 with the intake that makes it so loud??

 

I believe Short Ram is louder than CAI

 

I don't know. I have the same experience with mine as well

 

It's cool....It just something I wasn't prepared for.


It must be the Short ram on a H22 thats so loud.

 

short ram on F22 would also be loud

 

short ram or CAI on 5th gens are all loud in VTEC

 

its going to be loud becuase the intake manifold is so close to the cockpit of the car what you hear is the air being sucked into the manifold

 

I noticed a good bit of sound diffrence putting a CAI on my F22. So I would imagine a H22 would sound even louder than that and a shortram even louder still.
