Default Prelude Type S conversion

Is it really worth it? What do you have to do and how much does everything cost to do a Type S conversion? Also, does the Type S have ATTS?

it costs alot of money, since the type S h22 costs around 4000 bucks. the type s also has ATTS.

as far as the other differences, i guess it wouldn't be hard to get the JDM sidemarkers, and other accountrements.

no the engines are not too different
the S has higher compression pistons i think 11:1
it has slightly higher lift during VTEC and 220 hp stock
other than that JDM side markers, different shift knob, and different interior trim i think
i could be wrong or missing a few things

nah, it's not worth the extra $2000-2500. I'm happy with my JDM H22A.

Buy a type sh, build the motor with JE 11.5 to 1 compression and put a good set of stage two cams in and you'll make way more hp than a type s. My block is presently getting sleeved, built, and blueprinted at Golden Eagle Manufacturing in Cally. I'll let you guys know the results!

hmm the differences are:
pistons
cams
ECU
some suspension pieces

but with pistons and cams you should be close to type-s specs.

Engine also receives a minor port and polish job from factory, as well as different valve angles/seats. Type-S also has a different intake and exhaust manifold vs US 5th gens. Personally, I would much rather get the JDM Euro ATR H22a over the Type-S H22a, simply because the Euro comes with the sweetest tranny ever made for H22's (T2W4 > also has LSD instead of ATTS > a huge bonus!) So get same engine, just different tranny. They cost the same (I know I bought the Euro H22a instead of the Type-S and they were both $4K > now I am getting the rest of the conversion done

Type-S...
Strut bar
Foglights
Center cup holder assembly
Emblems
Intake
Door side sills
Shift knob and boot
rear ashtray
Front lower lip

WHAT is the rear spoiler/lip on Type-S though? Never seen it, only the Mugen one.

Like every is saying it isn't worth it. The Type-s pistons for a NA car is worth it but thats about it.
