Default 4th Gen Stalls in Hot Weather, Help!

Hello, I was wondering if any of you 4th gen lude guys out there know if this is a common problem with 4th gens? For some random reason, whenever I drive my car, turn it off, come back 5 minutes later and try to start it again it will stall or just not turn over. If I wait awhile the car will usually start back up but it only happens during the summer/spring when it's warm/hot out. THis car has started every time in subzero temps but it can't in warmth. My mechanic says he cannot diagnose the problem because whenever I get it towed to the shop, the thing will start back up without a problem! Ahh this is aggravating.
Thanks for your help!

I had that prob;em with my 92S thats reason why i sold it. I dont know why it does that. I replaced the fuel filter and various other things the one thing i didnt check was the radiator but my car never over heated. Does the car usuall sound like is going to start and than doesnt? one tricked i did learn was to hold down the gas pedal before i stared the car.

I just got a new radiator so I don't think it's that. When I try starting it sounds like it's trying to start but it won't catch. I'll try the gas pedal thing, but I thought that was only for carbeurated cars? I wish we could solve this problem, and I wonder if my car and MillerMan's old car are lemons? Thanks for the reply.

There are a few possibilities, but its most likely your main relay. Until you get it fixed just keep turning the key from the off position to the on position until you hear your fuel pump cut on, then start the car.

Sounds like the main relay. You can take it out and try to re-solder the circuit board on it (worked for my old car) or just replace it. I'm not sure exactly where it is on the 4th gen, but should be by the under dash fuse block.

i have the 92- S and i have the same problem happende yesterday. what causes this i think is the vaccuum. i had it re-done and replaced vaccuumm hoses and that helped for the rest of the summer but started back last week hope this somewhat helped.
