yea ive got about 215k on my h23a1 tranny, i pulled it apart and cleaned it up about 20k ago, but it still does ok, wont go into 2nd gear about 1 in every 40 shifts, just gotta re-clutch and then it works fine.

gotta hope that 40th shift isnt during a race tho

Here's something I've been wondering:

Say I get my engine and trans up to 170k or so and then I need a rebuild for both.

If you get a good, top notch rebuild for the tranny, is it ever the same again?

Also, if it's an SH tranny, is it ever the same again?

might as well buy a tranny and swap it, rebuilds on h22 trannys cost about 900 in parts for all new synchros/hubs/rings/bearings, etc.
you can get a used h22 tranny for less than that, you can even get a used JDM LSD equiped tranny for less than that.

as far as an SH goes, i dont touch those, and with good reason, im sure if you do your homework you could find a way to use a h22a tranny on your SH, but honestly im not a fan of ATTS.

I love the ATTS, but then again, I don't use my car ffor any kind of competition... something I'm okay with with this car.

I just dread the prospect of an ATTS/tranny rebuild.

You should dread replacing ur clutch with ATTS in there as well, that shit costs an arm and a leg, and some of your other arm...

I consider myself lucky, then. I'm up to 63k miles with no engine or transmission problems. I'd love for this car to last to 170k at least and still drive as it does now. I hope that's not asking too much of a Honda.

You keep up on the maintenance, keep enough oil in the motor to vtec when needed and not give the car constant beatings and you'll hit 170k no problem.
I've got over twice that and the only thing that is showing noticeable wear is the syncronizers on 3rd gear.

Thanks, highmileage.

That's good to know. As yet, I don't think my engine burns any oil up. I Try as much as possible to get it changed every 3000-3500 miles.
