as i understand it, the f22b is "basically the h23a1 motor, minus FRM sleeves."
makes the same power, etc. its also obviously .1 liter smaller than an h23a1.

You're thinkin' of the f22a1 which is the SOHC prelude gen 4 motor before the H22a series 1-4. The H23a1 is the nonVTEC DOHC motor put in the Sixth gen preludes i think (Came at the same time as the F23 motor in the Sixth gen accords.) f22b1 and the f22a1 i think are almost identical motors besides maybe compression (i'm definetly not sure on that one) Hope that helps. What exact info do you need on the motor?

H23 is an option for the 4th Gen ludes, there's no such thing as a 6th Gen lude and never will be

the f22b is a 2.2 liter DOHC non-vtec engine found in JDM prelude si's.

the h22a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude VTEC engine
the h23a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude si engine.
the f22a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude s engine

when the block code doesnt have a number at the end, that means its a JDM block.

<example>
the h22a is JDM, and the h22a1 and h22a4 are 93-96 and 97-01 prelude
blocks respectively

any questions?

Holy crap just when I thought your post in the other F22B thread was dumb.

For those still coherent.

F22B DOHC
Displacement: 2,156cm3
Power: 160PS/6,000rpm
Torque: 20.5kgm/5,000rpm

I realize this is all in metric the specs are from Honda Japan official website. I'm feeling realy lazy right now so I don't feel like doing the metric to imperial conversion.

haha, you guys play nice. I just bought a 4th gen lude with a F22b motor in it. I know enough to know that this isn't the stock motor. So I was wondering about it that's all. Thatnks for the replies.

I believe you have mis-typed the Prelude Generation - did you mean 5th gen (1997-2001)?
