You're thinkin' of the f22a1 which is the SOHC prelude gen 4 motor before the H22a series 1-4. The H23a1 is the nonVTEC DOHC motor put in the Sixth gen preludes i think (Came at the same time as the F23 motor in the Sixth gen accords.) f22b1 and the f22a1 i think are almost identical motors besides maybe compression (i'm definetly not sure on that one) Hope that helps. the f22b is a 2.2 liter DOHC non-vtec engine found in JDM prelude si's.
the h22a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude VTEC engine
the h23a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude si engine.
the f22a1 is the USDM 4th generation prelude s engine
when the block code doesnt have a number at the end, that means its a JDM block.
