Default Caliper removal

I have a question concerning caliper removal when you replace the rotors. I have previously replaced pads on the front of my '93 Accord and swung the top of the caliper up as described and replaced the pads. My question concerns my in-laws Toyota avalon which needs the rotors replaced. I plan on replacing the pads as well. When I remove the caliper completely, do I have to disconnect the brakehose banjo bolt fitting? I would prefer not to open the brake fluid system and just remove the caliper and bracket. Is this possible? thank you. any advise would help. DanG

no, you wouldn't HAVE to disconnect the brake line from the caliper, but it might be a lot easier. you'd just have to bleed the brake line when you put it back on, it's not hard. it would just be easier to have the caliper out of the working area instead of hanging in the way.

and as far as this little arguement goes...biglew, you said in your first statement that you have to separate the rear caliper from bracket. wouldn't this be removing the caliper?? either way, i would do the same as boom and just take off the caliper and clean things up. you guys were looking at it from two different views and shouldn't be worth getting pissed off at anyone about.

Yes, as I already stated that the rear caliper bodies have to be detatched. At any rate, that was in response to the plain "lol no" answer which ludeboom gave to the original question of "do you have to remove the calipers".

Well first of all, I wasn't getting pissed. Second, if he had come out and just said he prefers to take the caliper instead of trying to be billy badass then it would have been fine, and I wouldn't have felt the need to make him look like an ass by posting the pic of the Helm.
