you will have no issues fitting a bolt on turbo kit under a stock hood of a prelude

i thought the JRSC would fit under a 5g stock hood but not a 4g lude hood?
or maybe its the firewall that interferes on the 4g.

either way...the cost is the determining factor here.
SC is easier to install more like plug and play.
the turbo depending on boost level and fuel management+tuning will need upgraded internals. id recommend at least sleeves, rods and pistons, for any kind of consistent boost above 9 psi.

i disagree.... if you need upgraded internals for turbo, then why not for a JRSC, boost pressure is boost pressure. air volume may differ, but pressure is pressure

case in point, i know a guy and have seen time slips, of a STOCK H22 running 12psi and runs 12.71 in the 1/4 at over 3000 feet

upgraded internals are not necesary for a "low" boost application

ive heard it said on this forum
something like...
"i decided to prevent detonation with good fuel management, rather than build a block to withstand detonation"

im not saying upgraded internals are necessary, im saying insurance is insurance and if you can tune it out well enough and know your shit than you can get away with a stock block.

ive heard of several H22a's running boost above 9 pounds on stock internals.
but am i going to recommend someone go ahead and turbocharge a stock h22a and have a problem down the road?
no
as far as the supercharger goes...i thought 9psi pulley is the MAX boost you can run on it...so what is wrong with my statement?
we are talking about forced induction here, and i understand what those 2 words mean.

just dont turn the boost up, and u wont have problems

plus a turbocharger makes power more effeciently and does not put strain on the engines natural power. like i said, pressure is pressure, so the effect internally will be the same.

boost is boost, if your looking to up the boost go turbo, if you want more power and you might not upgrade later, s/c might be better for that app.

i hear the s/c does give some detonation problems.....go turbo if anything
