Default side skirts

Has anyone painted their stock side skirts/rear bumper skirt? How did they come out? Any problems w/ chipping, etc? I've got a 00 base model and have been looking for aftermarket skirts w/ a similar style to the stock skirts but haven't found anything I like.

it's been done before, it's fairly labor intensive, but turns out ok. sometimes it's hard to match the paint exactly, and you definitely have to sand your butt off, but it may be easier to look for an SH guy selling his stock sideskirts in the same color.

You mean paint yourself or getting them professionally done??

If you're talking a DIY paint job, I suggest against it. But if you're talking getting them painted at a body shop....why not :dunno:

Its the same as getting anything else on your car painted. Yes there will be minor chipping but overall you'll improve the look of your car two-fold IMO.

I dun see the dilemma here?

No dilema. I just can't find any aftermarket skirts I like and was wondering if this was a valid option. Thanks.

I personally like the Wing's West RS body kit, basically extends the dimensions of the stock look. Check it out RS Bodykit the best bodykit for the 5th Gen IMO, Mugen is a close second.

NP man, anytime, and if you're looking for something new for the front, I've seen a lot of good lips (CF and not) that look great on 5th Gens.

They can be painted. It should take ~1 weekend to get it done.
To minimize/eliminate chipping, use an adhesion promoter and don't put the skirts back on until the paint has a little time to cure.

Thanks for everyone's response. Now I just have to decide what I want to do. It's probably gonna come down to which is cheaper!
