Default Newbie!! need some suggestions

what up everyone, my name is Mike. I have a 1988 Honda prelude si w/ 4WS. I love my car no matter how many times people say its an old car. Its in really good shape. Now i have some ideas on to make the lude push out some horsepower. I was either thinking of changing the head on it and putting a gsr head on it and make it a b20-vtec. my second idea is just to buy a turbo and not use that much boost but then build up the engine and turn up the boost. As for aftermarket parts that i have on it now is i have AEM true time cam gears set at 0+ 0-, so no gain there, its a rebuilt engine with 70,000 miles but normally had 140,000, an intake and a muffler. Next i tend to get a custom mandrel bent cat back exhaust.

to do a b20 vtec your gonna have to do a bit more than just throw a head on it. your gonna have to do pistons, rods, ecu, and oil line for the head.

the b20 in the 2nd and 3rd gens is totally different than the b20's in the crv's. unfortunately, the b20's and b21's of yesteryear don't share alot with the modern b series.

boosting that engine could be dicey, and i think you'd want to completely build the bottom end and run conservative levels of boost, but i don't think anyone's ever put that much work into that engine so i'm not sure if anyone knows what the tolerances and limits are. still i'm sure it's possible, and with the right amount of work it should work well enough.

anyway, good luck man.

Not much wrong with this post. Spamming advertisements are against the TOS so continuing to break them will certainly shorten your stay.

Stated once, yes. When members complain and we find the same carbon reply on 3 and 4 posts = SPAM. Pretty simple.

it has more to do with respect than anything else.
you should obey the TOS when you make an account here.
its one thing to post detailed information and its another to post a link and a small advertisement.

i personally take offense to your posts here.
i have also visited preludepower.com before your arrival and i was very impressed with the data available.

the moderators here have explained your situation to you
