Default short shifter?

Where can I find a true short shift kit, not one of those stupid adapters? If there are none out there, how would I custom make one? My friend said that I could just chop some off the top; apparently that is what his brother did with his mustang. I would like to believe him, but with what I've seen, that won't work. :dunno:

cutting the shifter would just make the shifter shorter, not the throw.

you're lucky b/c you have a 4th gen. and someone makes a hi-quality short shifter for 4th gens:

thanks for the info. I think that is the shifter that I have seen, actually. I had checked it out on e-bay, probably 10 months ago. I couldn't remember the name of the company, though. Couldn't buy it then either... I hate hourly wage of less than 9.00... I hate that I have debt when I do have wage of more than 9.00. Life sucks... get over it. Any ways, yeah..... ummmm......

I took them off of eBay, their fees are already hefty, and they are going up again. They will get VERY limited business from me from now on.
