Default 4th gen prelude won't start

My bf's sister's automatic prelude will not start. We thought it was the battery and he went to buy a new one last night. After he installed it, the car still wouldn't start and there is no noise whatsoever when we try to start the car. We checked the fuses and spark plugs also and they were fine. Then we jump started the car and that was the only way that it would start. Do any of you guys know the problem or what else we should look at?

TIA

Did this happen all of a sudden, or has it had trouble starting for awhile before this? The two things I can think of are the starter motor or the coil. If it isn't making any noise when the key is turned though, its probably the starter. That usually doesn't happen all of a sudden though.:dunno:

One of those stupid things that you swear shouldn't be wrong, but it happens to shut down the whole system?
