Default 1st gear

Whats up people,

Sometimes I have a problem when shifting into 1st. For a split second it doesnt allow me to shift. Then I try again and its fine. If i really push it hard it goes in, but I dont think it should take that much force for it to shift into 1st. its 99 model. Its not always happening, but its at the point that its getting annoying now. All the other gears are fine.

HAs anybody had this issue with there Honda/Acura. Could it be my tranny fluid? or is it a mechanical problem. Let me know.
THanks.

Sean.

I dont really downshift to 1st. I ussually just shift to neutral. Unless if I intend to race. It happens when the car is stopped, or even moving very slowly....

same with my tranny (h23a1)
i have the non vtec tranny on the h22a1 because i prefer the lower ratios for cruising
actaully i raced a swapped 4g h22a tonite and took him by about 1.5 car lengths to my 4th gear and then i pulled hard on him.
he did gain on me (about 5 feet) in 3rd but my "special" 4th gear was far supperior to the h22a tranny's 4th gear which is geared for quickness.

anyway, i wouldnt worry about it as long as you change your fluid every oil change and keep up on your clutch fluid.

my buddy also has an H22 in a hatch civic. Its nice, but all that weight in the front kills him on turns. HOw does your car handle?

okay I checked my clutch fluid, the color doesnt look to good. Its dark and doesnt look like fresh DOT 3 brake fluid. Does anyone know how I can bleed my clutch fluid and refill with new clutch juice?
thanks
