1st gear
you can't easily shift into first because it prevents you from misshifting itno first and blowing the engine. to get it in you have to revmatch it and it'll slip in a little easier.
i don't encounter a lot of instances when i do downshift into first though.

the clutch bleed bolt is located on the slave cylinder, which is on the front of the tranny below the starter area.
ull need your girlfriend to pump the pedal while your bleeding it just keep stopping to top off the reservoir with fresh fluid
it will eventually push all the shit out the bleed hole.

Don't even worry about it..... first off, you can go 200k on the factory clutch fluid if you still have a clutch at that point (I've seen Honda's with 200k on the stock hydraulic clutch). Secondly, the first gear thing is the same on every 5th gen Prelude. No need to fret.

I have a friend with a 93 VTEC and asked him to test his. He could put it in first with no problems while we were going 30mph.
I have NO IDEA what is wrong!!!
It is annoying but i heard to try to put it into 2nd then first at a stop, keeping the clutch in the whole time. it helps out a little. I go into first w/o a 2nd or 3rd try more often then i used to.
whatever you do, don't FORCE your lude into ANY gear!!

if your bro can put it in 1st at 30mph i dont think thats good
1st gear is only to compensate for the tremendous amount of energy it takes to get your car to even move an inch
once the car is rolling even slowly it has exponentially more momentum.
u really shouldnt be putting it in first unless your completely stopped.
yes the 2nd to 1st thing does help save the synchros, i heard that from a DSM guy

my 93 teg does almost the same thing.
I do believe, at least on mine, it's a preventative measure there on purpose. Reason, I push in the clutch while coasting at about 40mph... downshift to 2nd, clutch still in... move it to 1st... apply light pressure as if moving to first and waiting for it to let you. Once the mph get below a certian amount it just opens up and lets it fall into 1st. I think it's somewhere under 10mph... I never really took notice.
