Default CAI vs. short ram intake

which is better a cold air intake or a short ram intake? and which brands do you prefer?

CAI has better HP gains, but if you live where there is a lot of rain/water, short ram would be better b/c the CAI is closer to the wheel well and ground and there is a chance of it sucking in water, or you can get a CAI and when it rains either dont drive or drive very cautiously.

Or if your smart you'd spend the extra 40-50 bucks and get the bypass valve from AEM.

you'd have to completely submerge to filter for it to suck up any water. if you're driving in conditions where this is an issue, then dont drive. get what ever looks pretty to you cause they're all basically the same in terms of performance numbers.
