2001 Prelude SH Questions
Alrighty the time has come to look for a new daily driver and somehow the girl has talked me into looking at this prelude.
It has 23,000 miles and is modded with a body kit, CF interior kit(honda), custom dual exhaust, AEM intake, MSD ignition, short shifter, and altezza tailights. Its selling for 21,500.
Ok first things first if I buy it how the hell do I get the altezza's off....are they clip or glue?
How close are these things to their rated horsepower with the true wheel horse power? Are they still using the H22A engine?
Do they have any problems or anything that I need to look at for in terms of common problems?
Thanks in advance.....

since it has a short shifter, ill take it as a 5spd and it has ATTS (active torque transfer system) which sends more spin to the outside wheel in a turn, since it is a type SH... Yes it is an H22a engine, and you will love it. The 5spd lude is a perfect daily driver and there shouldnt be anything to worry about.. especially since it doesnt have the SS auto. I dont have euro's and never have/will, so i dont know much about them, but they should be glued, just clip, basically plug and play, and i could be wrong.
Have fun with it... later.

Another Question....blue book is only 19 grand....now as an F-body guy I know that mods decrease the value of the car(shows it was raced/beat on) is it different in the honda section whereas you guys actually get your $ back out of the mods or is it still the same:dunno:

in regard to 97 VTEC LUDE
it may not be a TYPE SH
here are some way to tell if it is aTYPE SH
since I am a owner of one ...
when you start the engine does the "ATTS warning light " light up ???
is there a small door light on the side of the door ???
if you look in the back deck ... is there a third brake light mounted on ... because the TYPE SH has it third brake light mounted on the spolier ???
there are few more ways to tell if it is a TYPE SH or not ...
the rims ... the side molding ...
H22A4 is rated at 200 HP at the flywheel
i've seen the dyno low as 160 HP and high as 175 HP

It has the 3rd brake light...as far as I can tell...
Here's the body kit front and the rims....I have no clue what that kit is...
Do you think 20 grand is fair?? I am more worried about the records on the car and to see who did the mods....I'm gonna call the guy tomorrow....

the body kit looks like
vomit mixed with feces, sprikled with crusty eye boogers.
i would not pay extra for that poor car, everything on it is in BAD TASTE, and returning it to stock would cost another 2,000 bucks.
