Default Lude, High Beam questions

Just a couple questions...

Are they 9005 or 9006's?
How do i change them? Do i have to take out the whole light?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

9004 is for low beam and 9005 is for high beam for the 4gen

this is off the top of my tiny brain, hope i'm right

Ok cool 9005 now to replace them... how hard is it? Do i have to take out the whole light?

the bulbs are locked in by the outer plastic behind the headlight, twist it counter clockwise, might be kinda tight, and when it turns 90degrees, you should be able to pull out the bulbs

sorry, H9006 is low beam and H9005 is high beam

make sure you take off the power connector first.... it has a tab that will prevent you from turning the thing.... and you'll feel like an ass after trying for 30mins h:

LOL Thanks guys... now can i put a 9006 bulb in the high beam connector? Or that isnt possible? Thanks!

9006 in the high beam?? why????

Make sure you get the numbers right here.... it's kinda backwards.

The 9005 is a 65watt bulb, clear and uncovered for highbeams.

The 9006 is either a 50 or 55watt bulb with the tip usually covered and is for lowbeams.

And to really answer your question.... with 10 mins, a Dremel and a small grinding stone I make 9005's work in my 9006 sockets :rick: ..... so I would assume that you could reverse that and make 9005 work in a 9005 socket too. So....... probably yes.

LOL cool thanks man, also are the lights easy to get to they dont look it... what must be taken off the whole light assembly?
