easier yet, just pull the fuse for the radio and clock. Either way, make sure you have the security code for the radio, or else you'll have to make a trip to the dealer after all.

same fuse.....fuse box is just labeled clock/radio. Just yank the fuse for about 10 seconds and the ecu will reset.

disconnecting the battery will do it personally i would try hooking it up to a scan tool and resetting it and while your there check to make sure that your repair did infact fix the problem on my 96 ford taurus the check engine light was on because of a misfire in cylinder 5 and insufficient flow in the EGR(exaust gas recirculation) i changed the plugs and wires that fixed the misfire then i removed the EGR valve and tube and cleaned the hell out of it but guess what it didnt fix my problem i eventually gave up cause i had to get it inspected and it wouldnt pass with the check engine light on it was actually on because the EGR sensor was malfunctioning after that was fixed the light didnt come on anymore. thats just some food for thought and im not completely sure but if you have OBD2 if the computer doesnt see a Diagnostic Trouble Code in 3 OBD2 trips then the code is ignored and the light should turn off. hope my info is helpful keep me posted.
