This is the direct result of the lack of a true social rights movement for Asian Americans. You could say that Asian Americans and Black Americans initially took two divergent paths, with the AA attempting to become economically/financially integrated and the BA attempting to become socially integrated first. Now both groups are starting to do "catch-up" in the social/economic realm respectively.

We tried to enlighten people about the various cultures of Asia by making an Asian club and welcomed everybody. This went horribly awry and now the majourity of the school thinks our club is elitist and every non-Asian in there is a traitor.

yah I feel you man, even though I'm not full asian, sometimes I get remarks like that as well. But, at this point I've realized that you just gotta laugh it off, because it just shows you whos ignorant and whos not. Besides some people dont have bad intentions by saying things like saying "oriental." Its sorta like how minorities think that all white ppl are the same...but you gotta realize that some white ppl have cultures they like to recognize too like Irish, German, French etc.

I was honestly suprised to see this thread.
As a fellow Jew, I figured no one really gave a **** about this except for Jews.

I find theres a TON of anti-smeitism in the press, with regards to the Middle East conflict. Check www.honestreporting.com and see for yourself.

That guy who said Jews are superior is a ****in dumb****. Of all people Jews shoulnt be racist. We've had enough **** happen to us, so we should know how it feels.

Ironically, there are reports Muslims keep firebombing synnagouges and ****. At my school after 9/11 some Muslim kid got jumped. Me and my other friends, who were Jews saved his ass. He now a good friend of mine.

at the risk of being accused of antisemitist(not sure if that how you call it)... I think antisemitism is over rated! as some said here, it is ok to stereotype Asian, Indian(yes i know they are asian), Canadian, French, Black(Maybe a bit less), Americans, Brits, Arabs and so on... However when a couple of jokes are made such as the "cheap jewish and so on" it is considered antisemitism??

I know that what Savior was talking about is more then joke... That i agree is unexceptable! but i think the world in general are way more prejudist toward the muslim then the jewishpopulation...

it really is shit like that, that makes alot of white people hate black/pr/etc. if they would get over the Black Vs White thing. then i dont think there would be a problem. btw so none of you people thinkin im Anti Black people here. some of my damn good friends are black.

seems to me that joe lieberman is more at threat from fellow democrats, than from anti-semitism. :happysad: i actually would like to see him run.

anyway, as far as what i've witnessed.. interestly enough, some of the most racist people i've ever met were minorities themselves. i went to a predominantly black/latino high school. i'm talking something in the order of 90% or more. there was one jewish kid that i remember specifically. every time he wore the yarmulka, they gave him shit. it used to piss me off. he was a really good guy. i also couldn't help but laugh at the irony of them harassing someone who was different. then they would talk about racism and shit..

Liberman lacks personality, not that W has a lot but none the less. As far as minorites being racist...

People who have been victims of racism or think they have tend to be racist. Its the same as people who have been abused as children tend to be abusers themselves. Of course there are plenty examples where the cycle stops but it seems to hold true.

True story My roommate in college was Jewish... me him and a couple of guys from the doorm went to play Bball.. Well the boy can play, we beat these guys "all black" and started saying we cheated...... My friend the Jewish guy said thats bullshit... One of the guys swings on him they start to fight 1on1... My friend mops him..... toward the end of the fight he used the N word..... Another guy goes "hell no"!! and starts to jump in i push him and tell him that's not going to happen.... Meanwhiles he knocks the other guy out...... The other guys on there team start to jump Me..... Some of my other friends from diego playing on another court saw and came to help out.. We kick there asses ,and ran them off.... The next day i saw an ask the other guys from the dorms why they did not help out... One points out that "my roommate used the N word, and they are not going to support that and if I do Im a sell out" What???? My Jewish friend overherd and said FU guys, i don't need friends like you!!! "short verison" years later we are now bussiness partners in real estate... we go out to eat about a year ago and i start telling this story...
At the end of the story, his wife says "why do you hang with him" to my friend.. And he said something that stuck with me... ever snice he was a boy in Brooklyn ,even though his father was racist.. he says he learned to judge people as individuals not by race... He says there are good black ,white, Jewish and asian people and there are bad... But don't judge whole race on 1 are 2 are many bad isolated incident's... me and his wife were floored.... He's was right..

Actually, I've noticed quite of bit of anti semitism lately, mostly among adolescents. Personally I think it's just attention getting behavior.
