Anyways, one thing I'd like to point out is that if you look at actual voting records, that "most liberal" is an outfaced lie that's trotted out against at least the last two major presidential races. It's a FUD tactic that works because sometimes, when people hear a bald faced lie that fits conveniently into their world view (like the whole Obama as a muslim thing, etc), even if corrected later, they still cling hopefully onto this idea that they can present themselves in a clearcut ideological battle.

Anyways, I'm just going to ask you to use some nonpartisan factchecking websites with your statements. It's like Snopes: It's a good thing to make sure you're not believing some hocus-pocus you heard from a "trusted source".
I don't use extreme right and extreme left sites as facts and have no use for them, I do lean to the right but would say I am more in the middle of politics where I think most Americans are and where I prefer political candidates be which is why I like McCain because he is not afraid to go after his own party members if he feels they are wrong. As far as the media, it generally leans unfortunately too far left in most cases so that is a highly suspect source and from my viewing the media highly wants Obama to win and have been very easy on him compared to McCain/Palin. There is no question Obama is a very liberal guy and politician, even liberals admit that and I have seen his voting record which overwhelmingly sides with the left, I rarely if ever hear him criticize or take on his own party where John McCain has a record of doing that. I am in the middle of politics and don't want extreme left or right politicians in office which is why I like John McCain, I want them to work together and be able to come up with something that satisfies both sides so it is passed instead of just being shot down by the other side with a bunch of bickering which accomplishes nothing, Obama is too far left and has not shown a willingness to try to find a compromise or make both sides happy which is why I think he won't make a good President during these times. Right now we need someone to bring both parties together and go after corruption and waste from the far left and far right, McCain is the guy who will do that where Obama generally will just cater to the far left and criticize and blame the right which is not going to accomplish or help anything and give us the same thing we have seen over and over, 2 parties fighting and bickering all the time instead of working together for America and Americans.

As far as the govt taking over Freddie Mac and Fannie May and now the AIG bailout, that is something dire that Rep did not want to do but felt had to as if they did not it would be a much worse situation. Generally Democrats and Republicans did not want to do this but based on circumstances and effects felt they had too. McCain has been saying he was not really for the AIG bailout and does not feel the govt and taxpayers should keep bailing failing companies out but has said unfortunately it may be necessary even though he does not like it. I am not happy but then again it probably has to be done unfortunately. Obama and McCain seem to see eye to eye in that they are not very happy about the circumstances and would not ideally want the govt to be taking over and bailing these far too large and powerful companies out but it most likely needs to happen or else things would be much worse if they completely failed and went under.

I'm not, nor have I ever been, against background checks.

That said, I've seen some stats (can't find them) that a vast majority of guns in the hands of criminals are either stolen or bought off the streets. Last I checked, you can't run a background check on those.
