a gun is no different than a knife, both are tools, key tools in the lives of many people ... but you put either of them into the hands of a person with bad intentions and they become dangerous. should we outlaw knives because some people are bad?
That is true - at the same time you want people to understand where you are coming from you have to understand where those people are also coming from. like myself, growing up in jersey close proximity to nyc - watching news everynight where someone got shot here and got shot there, obvioulsy paints a picture of guns = bad.

i dont have much experience with guns personally and the ones i have had were not so good. i do however one of these days want to shoot one in a controlled environment like a pa range or something and possibly own one for when i have children (especially a daughter) for me the gun thing will be something i will just want to do. others just see it as a tool to kill and that is something people will have to understand.

yea i know those people

they're called close minded sheeple

the tv tells me guns are bad so i believe them ...

and for that matter, this is why america is great. a small group in a area where guns arent welcome dont get to dictate the rules for everyone ... usually.

AND like they say, how many times does someone report a crime that never happened? the news never reports how someone ALMOST got mugged or came CLOSE to being raped only to be saved by a gun

That's part of the issue. The shit you saw on the tv was criminals who you can pretty much bet were not open carrying, nor did they have a ccw permit.

That said, guns in the hands of criminals = bad. How about we have harsher penalties for gun crimes, stop letting felons out early, etc etc.

It's illegal for a reason.

i am all for that - what is the point of going through the justice system if only to let the person who shot someone else sit in jail for couple years and the back out on the streets so they can do it again.

well that is the point also, tv shows criminals using guns which equates people to believe they are bad. at the same time you can not deny the items ability to be used in either manner. i guess it is the ease of obtaining legally/illegally and the convenience of having it on person that makes this such an interesting topic

That's the liberal fueled media that absolutely doesn't allow any positive gun carry stuff on the news.

I guess they mean something different over here. Basically me, a law-abiding citizen gets a permit to carry and buys guns. Hand guns over to drug dealers and pushers and then report the guns lost or stolen.

Also, i havent read the first page and i skimmed the back page.
