Enough with the California-bashing.
It doesn't serve the purpose of the thread and frankly, it's getting old.

CVC 27156 was mandated by the federal government and specifically, the National Emission Standards Act (42 USC., Sect. 7521 to 7550 inclusive).

Every state is required to have an equivalent law on their books; this is California's version. All it says it that if your car came from the factory with EPA mandated emission control systems, it is illegal to modify, disable or remove them and that you cannot drive on the public road if they are.

 

Update going to court on Wednesday to fight it, any last min advise would be great wish me luck...

Why would you fight it, All you have to do is replace the intake with the factory one. Let me guess, there's more to the story then what you're telling us correct?

 

because why pay 30 dollars for re-smog when it already passed 2 months ago and pay a 100 dollar fine?

 

went to referee today and passed! yay! so happy to be able to drive my baby again. Pretty soon need a new cat though (Damit)
