So tommorow I am going check out a car and it sounds like a good deal but the guy just tells me that it needs a tune up. (it is a 94 civic hatch with a b18c1 with a couple bolt ons.) I was just wondering if that someone says "it just needs a tune up" , what they mean is that the car is screwed up. im not sure so any info or experience would be appreciated. Also, the guy said it boggles a little when you turn it on and the revs are high at first. he says a tune up will fix it.

 

do you have a trustworthy friend who is more mechanically inclined than you?

 

Maybe it's a little late, but tell him that he can get it tuned up, and you'll look at it and also cover the costs of the tune up should you decide to buy it.
