sigh.

my stance on collecting ...
1. do it because you like it.
2. if you happen to have possessions which increase in value during your ownership, fine.
3. if you're into the hobby and happen to make a few $, so be it ... you're going to re-invest into the hobby anyways.

I'm trying to think, but I think I've only sold 2 TF's on eBay, ever.
1. Cybertron Wing Saber
2. Cybertron Scourge

I did sell a few Nintendo DS Lite's around Xmas though, I tried to offset the cost of a PS3. h:

fyi, people over there are getting their panties in a bunch about this picture ...

Reechy (Rich), sent a 4 pack to my house back in August. 2 of those were meant to go to my brother ...
while those were in transit, I actually found 2 @ a Target ... and I think JP (Megatron) actually found a Swerve of his own at the same time.

I was going to use the Target receipt to return some of the extras, but never did.

After a few trades, I ended up with an assload of the most expensive Alternator to date.

If you combine mine and my brother's together, at one point, we might of had 8 of these under the roof on accident.

So let's suppose I had gone to my local WM and purchased half a dozen Cybertron Leobreakers when they were clearanced at $10.

Now, due to bizarre demand, I'm suddenly sitting on $500 worth of toys. I'm now morally obligated to sell them for $10 apiece or I'm a scalper? Because I bought a bunch of toys NOBODY wanted and now they do?

The sense of entitlement in this fandom never ceases to amaze, but I hear it's worse over in the SW/Joe/Marvel Legends camps.

That's exactly it. You hit it dead on.

Nobody bitches about the 3 pack of Dead Ends in another picture. His eBay price, $30 ... but nobody brought that up. They're immediately drawn to the Swerves.

With my collecting habits, I get even more of a rush when I find the clearanced TF's. I buy all these sale TF's ... and just never get rid of them. I'm a cheap ass, constantly stretching my dollars. When I can be cheap with my hobby, that's just awesome.

And you're right, because I got these for $10 each ... over a 10 store run which spanned 4 hours ... I'm obligated to distribute them to nobodies for $10 each.

If I keep them, I'm a hoarder. If I sell them, I'm a scalper.

Screw that, I do what I want.

I read that entire thread. The whiners are a bunch of fuggin idiots. Just because they don't jump on a good deal when they see it, isn't Andrew's fault.

Hell, they'd probably really get their panties in a twist if they ever saw the full extent of either of our collections.

They'd really blow a fuse if they ever saw rabidmonk's collection :chuckles:. Monk I dare you to post up a picture of your three Ft. Maxes up on TFW.

Fuk them. Entitlement my ass. Let their asses go hunting in stores. Think of it this way: they are paying the difference in your opportunity cost by you having to actually go out and get these. If someone's cool with you, that's one thing, but you owe nobody. Hell, if life was fair there wouldn't be so many ugly people.

And yeah, they would probably freak if they saw my collection with all my multiples. (For the record, I only have 2 BMs. )

is there a link to the TWF thread?

If they're upset over the Swerve pics, make sure this gets posted in a few months.
