if they use protection, then what's the point of getting tested?

the reason is this, disease will spread regardless.

Infection control isn't the primary issue.

Now if you are referring to the disease in a spiritual sense, then I am with you 100%; it will help to spread the "disease"

The real disease is value corruption.

There are a few modern Sodom and Gomorrah cities. I find it fascinating to watch how social policies are implemented and function in such places as Las Vegas and the Netherlands.

Only those of the strongest convictions survive when faced with so many potentially bad choices.

IMO you can't Legalized prostitution it wont work:no:

for every prostitute that charges 50$ for sex.

there's a crack hoe down the street that will only charge 10$ for sex

A majority of women don't choose prositiution as a career choice in high school most women go into prostituiton for survival, or durg addiction.
most want to escape prostitution.

most these women need drug addiction and alcohol treatment
not "legalized government pimps"

Bad Bad Bad Ideal

fm1 - las vegas and the netherlands are a bad example because they are the "oasis of compromised values" in a world of relatively tighter values. for example, here in the states, binge drinking is a big problem, especially among young people. over in france, not so much, because people are brought up with alcohol. there is not the need to experiment with it. if people are forbidden something it makes it that much more fascinating.

Good point. Not sure if it holds water. The exception are Russians. See below.

Not scientific, but I think that the younger a person is exposed to vices like alcohol the sooner it is determined if they have an addiction prone personality or traits.

America doesn't like to let the kids experiment until they are of "legal" age. Unfortunately, this is also the same age that people get tried as adults.

The next major hurdle that we will face is gambling addictions. The gambling rules are becoming very lax as states cash in. Easy to regulate, unlike prostitution and illegal drugs.

right. makes sense. i've just always been of a strong enough mind to not fall prey to these vices so naturally i assume everyone else should be as well. willpower.
