I have seen men get accused of rape because the woman regretted it in the morning or wanted a serious relationship when the guy did not. Like the death penalty I would only support this if proven beyond not just a reasonable doubt but without question.

I do feel that, in terms of the sicko arrested in the Jon Benet Ramsey case, that person should just be shot.

I just love how folks in the south are so quick to noose an individual that they feel is guilty of a hanus assualt/crime". Yet this is the bible belt, and the bible teaches us to forgive and turn the other cheak. It's so ironic how quickly the bible belt south condemns others...wants to torture, harm, kill, de-humanise. Isn't that what the bible teaches these individuals of what NOT to do?

the only southern person in support of this thread is Mr. 16postn00b (post #2). And by the way, I'm not even remotely Christian, but I do believe in justice and karma.

nah...I was speaking in general terms. Not pointing fingers at anyone here. I guess I'm bringing the debate closer to corporal punishment — what you are saying is no different really...

I also find it ironic that liberals are so quick to protest capital punishment and the death of terrorists at the hands of US soldiers but are even faster to demand abortion on demand for anyone and everyone. Adults put to death have made their decisions...innocent babies have not.

Oh DVP...you obviously believe that an unborn fetes is living breathing life. I suppose that condoms are immoral...I suppose that GOD is the ultimate decider when rape and incest allows 14 year olds to give birth to unfortunet babies...with no future...no promise of an american dream...no properly funded school system, no chance at college, no chance at anything really....Strip them of anything that promises them hope, but gd't, they are under "gods" will...in that trailor park...that ghetto crack infested streat corner...that dope dealer mom of theirs will show them the right path...don't allow them anything but living breathing air and tell them to survive....

I do believe that an unborn child is a living being that is the most precious thing in the world. However that does not mean that I do not tollerate abortion in limited circumstances. I also thing condoms and other methods of birth control should be distributed freely and openly to everyone. On of the things I disagree with the Church on is their abstinence policy and anti birth control. If you don't want abortions then lets do what we can to eliminate unwanted pregnancies, this means birth control.

Rape and incest are abortions that I will tollerate. 14 year old girls I will tollerate as well as long as the parents are awares, afterall an abortion is a delicate medical procedure and if you cannot perform another delicate procedure on a kid under 18 without their parents constent then you cannot do the same with abortion as well.

I also recongnize that abortion is here to stay whether or not it is legal or illegal. Having a legal and regulated abortion procedure is a lot better than having a back alley abortion. Abortions should be limited to first tri-mester only.

My issues with the left is that they are advocating an abortion on-demand for anyone of any age at any time. They want abortion to be a form of birth control. Eliminating abortion is not going to happen but there needs to be certain restrictions and guidelines on it.

I'm deleting your last paragraph...but I agree with you fully...I have no argument with what you've just stated.

wow...dvp...we fully agree on something. I'm not kidding...you nailed that on the head with my thoughts. You probably explained it better then I ever would.

BTW, whats your name already...you're always callin me by name.

*edit...I agree with you, and I won't break apart your response. But one thing that I will not tolerate...is back alley abortions. This is disgusting and should be penalized under the law....back alley abortions is criminal and should be equivelant to doctors/dentist that practice under unlawfull practice....malpractice should be punishiable under the fullest extent of the law.

I agree with the fairly recent legistlation of parents having full concent...anyone under the age of 18 that becomes pregnant, should have parental concent of aborting. This should be a federal law.

It's always good to find common ground. When it comes to social issues I am more of a moderate and some in the Republican party would label my views as liberal. I basically vote and support what makes sense to me.

My name is Tom and it is also in my sig.

...this why our system is the greatest experiment in the world. I still find it ammusing when me and my "liberatarian" buddy find common ground on so many topics....Freedom is subjective....liberation is subjective when electing a leader. We aren't so differen't.
