There's 2 types of clear plastic.
1. fully transparent - much like eHobby's Ghost of Starscream
2. clear tinted - a has a thick texture to it, transparent, but not clear ... much like a colored xbox controller.
fully transparent looks the best, but if you screw up assembly, pieces tend to spider web crack on you. Also, it's not durable at all and is very easily scratched.
clear tinted is way more durable, but you can't see though it.
these guys look like they're clear tinted with a slight texture. They're awesome ... but $20 shipped might be a bit too rich for my blood.
