I'm guessing they're still tweaking the boxes internals. Reports say there is no diff between this version and the galaxy force verson. Hasbro USA usually changes plastic bits to rubber, so we'll wait and see.

So, Primus is getting ready for a May / early June release now.

 

^ The Unicron head chase variant is . I've got that on pre-order with BBTS. The only chase variant I'm concerned about attaining is Alternators Nemesis Prime. Rumors are that this particular figure is going to be a true random chase variant. (Andrew will correct me if I'm wrong.)

 

supposedly the BLACK Alternators Optimus Prime will be released in the Alternators cases that contain the Red version. Nobody knows if ...

1. the Black Prime will be randomly packed into cases.
2. the Black Prime will see 1 shipping case (ala Swerve).

He's coming though, and a lot quicker than anyone thought. I figured it would take a few releases till a repaint ... not the case at all.

If it's a true variant hunt (option 1), this will be a HUGE pain in the ass to find. I always keep my eyes open for toy brands that do have variants (Marvel Legends, WWE Classics, & DC Direct) ... I've NEVER seen an oddball on the shelf, ever. They're always picked clean by store employees.
