They're not in my signature because I own a half a dozen cars and it'd seem like I was "bragging" if I listed each and every one. And in any event, I use the TL and the Accord as my daily drivers, so they get the nod for placement in the signature.

Yeah, that's what I thought. :madfawk:

And another thing. You ask have I ever driven a ****en NSX. NAW! Have you?

The fact is, there are ALOT of cars that deliver the same performance or better for less money.

Big damn deal if the car's handbuilt with an aluminum chasis. That alone doesn't justify the price. Honda only builds a small number of NSX's per year, and loses money on them too. Why? Because THERE'S NO DEMAND. See my first sentence in this post if you still don't get it.
NSX's never selling for $100k. Dealers are smarter than that. There are more to the NSX than the "underpowered" engine. It's the technology that's in it. I can go for hours about it, but that's just a waste of my time because some people just don't understand.

So name ALL those cars?

How do you know Honda loses money? I love heresay.
How do you know there's no demand? Speaking of no demand, what happened to the 300zx TT? Supra TT? Mitsu VR4? Now THAT is no demand.

The NSX is a low production car, unlike the ones you mentioned. Anyway, the NSX is an image car for Honda. Since they're known for making cheap, practical cars, they wanted something to boost their reputation worldwide. That's why they make the NSX, not to make money. They don't sell enough of them to make it a profitable.

As for the comments about the price, if you actually have some info to prove me wrong, post it. I'm tired of answering all of your silly questions. It's called a search engine, use it.

So where's your evidence that Honda is losing money? And what image does Honda need to boost? They have extensive racing heritage, idiot. Japanese cars have always been known for very efficient cars. Did you know Nissan is a Japanese auto manufacturer? hmm.

"Since they're known for making cheap, practical cars"
Wow, what an ignorant statement. Do you have an idea of how many car companies make "cheap, practical cars"? I mean, Ford must've made their Mustang to "boost" their image right? Jeez, same reasoning behind the Viper I guess. Might as well be with the Corvette. Oh wait, Fiat must've bought Ferrari to boost their image also.

Sorry, I only have 2 friends who own an NSX. Not enough I guess.

You live in California? Call up Acura of Santa Monica, because they're selling a 2002 NSX for $80k.

Oh yea, about your "search engine" comment, sorry, I should believe everything on the internet

Thank you, good night.

But the car only weighs as much as a Civic. You know what 290 all motor horsepower in a Civic is like?
It says 280 because of the gentlmen's rule in Japan. All cars are supposed to be limited to 280 ps.

Actually Honda does take a small hit on each NSX they sell, mainly because of the technology.

ZMAN, go drive an NSX and a Tamora back to back. I have driven the NSX but have never driven the Tamora, but have read many reviews and seen pictures of it. The NSX is a daily driver, with amazing ability to turn from an exotic performance car into a car as docile and forgiving as a Honda Accord. You know nothing of what you speak of, you are just a hater, plain and simple.

You realize, of course, that if all of your banter about the NSX were true, they would have discontinued it 7 years ago or so. Not to mention the pure fact that the technology of the NSX puts 95% of the cars on the road, and even the Saleen S7 to shame. You'd need to go to Lamborghini, Ferrari, or the $118,000 Porsche 911 turbo (which the NSX doesn't even NEED) to beat it in performance and technology. And what's this thing about Honda making cheap, practical cars. Note how a Civic is at least $2,000 more than a Chevy Cavalier, yet it will drive circles around it, last 3 times as long, and has the same, consitent material and assembly quality as an Accord. How is that cheap? And of the affore mentioned vehicles, other than the Porsche, what exotic car can you use as a daily driver? Not that you'd want to, but it shows the drivability of the NSX, making it just as easy to push to the edge of handling as a Cadillac Sedan deVille! So you don't have to be Michael Schumacher to drive the thing! :madfawk:

Guys...I think we need to stop bashing on Zman...I think it's enough and he learned his lessons. It's been great to scroll down and looked at everyone's comments, and we all know he pissed us off with his attitude. It looked to me that he just wasn't expressing himself precisely to explain his stand points. I also agreed that the NSX is a bit expensive to own, and true, there are cars in Europe that cost half the price and still is a good car like the VTR. I am pretty sure it's a good car too. Yet, a handbuilt vehicle like NSX deserves much more than that. If I had 80K 'n you want me to choose a car, I wouldn't pick a Boxter and throw the rest into a CD but to pick an NSX. I love the styling, clean lines, the sound of it(no I don't own one but I've sat on it, but maybe vtr's sound better...I dunno...) Honda does keep a good reputation with its effeciency, quality, style... and that's why there's a lot of repetitive buyers. I, too, as a honda owner, would love to have one NSX.
It's an exotic car, with a small group of buyers. I am pretty sure Honda probably doens't make lots of profits out of it and might be losing some money or having a hardtime keeping the NSX alive...who knows, can't be certain about that... but for all we know, Honda is keeping us happy and we'd love to try this super car here. (specially the R version...) My dream would be to keep the whole honda family in my garage... but who knows when that day will be?
Zman, correct me if I am wrong, maybe I am expressing myself more poorly, but I think I see what you mean... . Afterall, it's a respectful car and I am pretty sure you like it too... otherwise I don't think you will be hanging here with us. 2nd-hand NSX's are a lot cheaper than brand new ones tho, maybe that will make it more affordable to you if you ever consider getting one here. I think 2nd-hand VTR's might be more expensive for the same year used tho... could be wrong. Anyway calm down, it's just a dicussion board and in order to earn other people's respect, you need to be little more passive about attacking people's words. I just want to have a good time here with all ya peiceful and happy Honda lovers.
