Sounds more like a new Celica..........maybe this is the rumor of the Celica moving to the Scion brand.

you know that would make sense, although they would have to lower prices, considering the Celica IMO, isnt "well below" $20k? so i dont think it is.

I think there's probably room for the Scion coupe and the Celica to remain in the Toyota line-up. With the Scion coupe they can go after the "tuner" crowd and offer sportier performance at a fairly low price. I doubt the coupe will be a great performer out of the box anyhow. The Celica can then probably move more low volume, but sold in higher performance trim only. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they shared platforms and engines.

I think the Scion coupe will be more Eclipse-like (i.e. poser oriented) in nature while the Celica continues to be based off a smaller platform and be a light weight actual performance car.

Read my post on the drifting article from the WSJ. Jim Farley, a Toyota/Scion exec describes a "resurgence in RWD vehicles". Who knows, if Toyota does have a small, RWD car in development its going to be badged a Scion.

Wheres this post...

Im very much into drifting, hell, I grew up reading OPTION and its predessecors(well, looking at the pics, I was a toddler then) and am glad there is a re-surgence in RWD cars. Not so glad theres a growing popularity of drifting...

Call it the Scion Trueno or Scion Levin, give one model a 1NZ-FE and call it the 1.5 SR(only AE86 enthusiasts will pick up on that joke), the GT-APEX and the GTV. And of course, offer 2-tone paint, and primer only

MAG-X did that a couple years back
