Hey look, a Pathfinder Armada with a different grille and wood trim.

Oh well--GM pulls it off with the Suburban/Escalade, Ford does it with the Expedition/Navigator and Toyota does it witht the 4Runner/GX470 and Land Cruiser/LX470 so why not Nissan too?

I saw a Pathfinder Armada the other day and all I can say is ugly! :barf:

This Infiniti QX56 whatever its going to be called is just the same thing and just as ugly. I don't like the side profile of this vehicle. Bring back the QX4.h:

My next SUV or truck is definitely going to be domestic, I can't stand those Toyotas and Nissan SUVs and Trucks.

I was under the impression that the reason for the failure of the original QX4 was that they took a Pathfinder and added chrome trim. At least the cars Mike talked about have different designs and features. The QX56 just seems like a chrome Pathfinder Armada

I dunno man, a Navigator or Escalade sure looks a helluva lot like an Expedition or Tahoe.

I'll take your word for it. I just really don't like SUV very much. Especially the big ones. The biggest I'll go for is the Pilot size. The rest just look like big box on wheels to me.

UGh. Why these things sell is beyond me. :ugh: :squint:  The FX looks so much better.

In basic size and shape, yes. But they do not look exactly the same. Noone will ever confuse a Navigator for an Expedition unless they suck. The QX56 is a chromed version of the Armada.

You're right, all they did was change some lamps, body cladding and fascias. Which is exactly what the domestic companies do to make their luxo versions.

Ford clones.

GM clones.

You're absolutely right as well, Mike. But at least GM and Ford make an attempt to differentiate them. Nissan jus adds chrome and Infiniti badges. Don't you agree that this is definetly a bad strategy, especially in such a highly competitive and image-driven category such as the one that the QX56 will be in?
