Honda-Acura.Net Road Test: Infiniti G35 Coupe 6-Speed
I agree with the assessment except for the wallowing part... that part doesn't make sense to me.
but I think as we discussed it could have been the shipping blocks in the rear springs.
good review

Infinti had it first :chuckles:
Sounds like a very nice car though! Better than anything I've ever been in.
h: I used to think the rear end was ugly but it has grown on me and I almost think it looks better than the Z's rear end.

It is the S2000 first on my list, with the G35 a very close second just because it is so hot! All the rest of the cars, except maybe the Z car, I would never even think of owning. The 3 series, after driving many, is the most over rated car of our time in my very personal opinion.

OMG, that is exactly my opinion! Just about anything in the price range is way better than the 3 series.
i've had mine for 4500 miles, and so far i would pick it again.
i dont think it wallows it all...u can definitely feel the weight, but turn-in is crisp and it corners nice and flat. it's the perfect compromise between sport and daily driver comfort.
the brakes are fabulous...excellent pedal feel, sharp yet progressive bite, and short stopping distance. no complaints here, other than the amount of brake dust.
the clutch feels a bit heavy at first, but it's perfectly weighted in my opinion. just the right amount of stiffness. honda clutches feel too light in retrospect. the shifter is purposely designed to require effort, and the feel is satisfying and direct.
as for power...there's PLENTY of low-end grunt, with a strong pull to redline also. i can easily chirp 3rd gear with VDC off. driving around town in a torquey car is so much more fun than buzzing along at high rpm's all day...but of course that's just my driving preference (my previous car was a GS-R, and I rode a 600cc bike for awhile....so i know a little something about having to rev hard
) overall, the engine is extremely flexible, with power across the spectrum. oh yeah, cant forget the exhaust note
the interior is..well, it's ok. it's not bad, and the painted center console has grown on me. my main complaints are the hard plastics used near the e-brake and the door panels. it's unattractive, and scratches very easily. i also wish the driver's seat had a memory feature. the bose system in the premium package is GARBAGE. there's decent bass, but the highs and mids are horrendous. everything sounds muddy. also, the in-dash changer is slow.
overall, i really don't think it can be beat for the money. i considered a 330Ci briefly, but not for $5000-7000 more. also, they're everywhere, and would hardly get a second glance. sure there are some minor issues with the interior, but they make up for it in so many other areas. for me, it's the perfect jekyll & hyde car - - - a docile luxury GT i can drive my boss around in, or a hard charging, tire squealing sports car.

Like I said, it wallowed only that once on an 80 MPH sweeper...it mystified me and still does
