i dont think it wallows it all...u can definitely feel the weight, but turn-in is crisp and it corners nice and flat. it's the perfect compromise between sport and daily driver comfort.
the brakes are fabulous...excellent pedal feel, sharp yet progressive bite, and short stopping distance. no complaints here, other than the amount of brake dust.
the clutch feels a bit heavy at first, but it's perfectly weighted in my opinion. just the right amount of stiffness. honda clutches feel too light in retrospect. the shifter is purposely designed to require effort, and the feel is satisfying and direct.
as for power...there's PLENTY of low-end grunt, with a strong pull to redline also. i can easily chirp 3rd gear with VDC off. driving around town in a torquey car is so much more fun than buzzing along at high rpm's all day...but of course that's just my driving preference (my previous car was a GS-R, and I rode a 600cc bike for awhile....so i know a little something about having to rev hard
) overall, the engine is extremely flexible, with power across the spectrum. oh yeah, cant forget the exhaust note
the interior is..well, it's ok. it's not bad, and the painted center console has grown on me. my main complaints are the hard plastics used near the e-brake and the door panels. it's unattractive, and scratches very easily. i also wish the driver's seat had a memory feature. the bose system in the premium package is GARBAGE. there's decent bass, but the highs and mids are horrendous. everything sounds muddy. also, the in-dash changer is slow.
overall, i really don't think it can be beat for the money. i considered a 330Ci briefly, but not for $5000-7000 more. also, they're everywhere, and would hardly get a second glance. sure there are some minor issues with the interior, but they make up for it in so many other areas. for me, it's the perfect jekyll & hyde car - - - a docile luxury GT i can drive my boss around in, or a hard charging, tire squealing sports car.
Good stuff, Rich. For the money, the G35C is unbeatable...they could get $45,000 for that car with no trouble at all if they put $1500 into the interior. What a job by Nissan.
Like I said, it wallowed only that once on an 80 MPH sweeper...it mystified me and still does
