The tail lights look like the RX-8 tail light to me. Also, it sorta resemble the S2000 light too.

Yeah, but the lights within don't relate to the form of the light unit within the body. IMO.

Lemme do a quick photoshop to show you what I'd have done....

I dont like these "altezza" form of TL's at all, it looks cheap to me, but this at least mitigates the damage a little.... :dunno:

I think Mazda was trying to appeal to the 35-under crowd. Just look at the interior, its damn sporty for an economy car. Its like nothing else on the market now in its price class. Damn Mazda though, for teasing us with the wagon. I love the wagon look, but I need a sedan! Also hoping that they have a 3-door hatch, that would rock.

I think the 2.3L is rated at like 160hp/150 lbs-ft in the 6, so if its bumped up a bit (and I think the 04/05 6 will get the increase as well) it should be pretty close to the current MSP. If they can get 170/160 then it would be almost exactly the same. Rumors have it that since it shares its architecture with the next gen Ford Focus and Volvo S40/V40 that AWD could be an option. I'm only imagining the possibility or a turbo'd 220hp, AWD MS3 could be like! Hopefully someone at Mazda is reading this...

Some of you have really high expecations for this. Turbo and AWD? That's possible, but I dont know how likely. If so, the price is going to have to be crazy. Papa Ford wants over 30k for its awd turbo focus, so good look. Rather have a real sports car for that price....

I like the looks of it a lot. I found myself looking at the MazdaSpeed Protege yesterday...pretty damn nice vehicle for $20,500. But I'd still take a Civic Si...not sure why.

Ford is in la-la land if it wants 30k for its turbo Focus. But after seeing the SRT-4, the upcoming Saturn Ion Red Line, and rumour Chevy Cobalt SS that ower 200+ turbo power for around 20k, I would expect Mazda, since it's also based on a mass-produced platform, could do something similar. It's not too far-fetched as long as they don't make the car in artificially low numbers. Even at around 23-24k I think it could attract a lot of buyers.

Id expect a turbo mazdaspeed version for sure.

The last protoge was hampered by low-boost and weak internals, and not to mention a POS Intercooler.

If they can make a dragster out of the 2.3L engine, I am confident that the 2.3L motor, even using the small-ish T25, and a low psi number can make roughly 200hp

I think with more boost, this car can dethrone the SRT-4
