Anyone know anything about Nissan bringing the Skyline GT-R to the states?

I guess the people at Porsche didn't think of that when they made the 911 turbo huh? With your logic, all they did was add a couple of turbos on the 911 and charge you 2X the price. Yet, I wonder why people are still buying:thinking:

The GT-R has never really cost more in yen than a Corvette costs in dollars.
Porsche's pricing structure is not really a good comparison--you can option up a 911 Carrera from a base price of $68k all the way up to almost $100k. A 911 Turbo starts at $116k and goes up to over $160k (and that's not for the GT2).

I wasn't comparing the 911 Turbo to the G35. Nissan goal for the GT-R is the 911 Turbo performance range. The GT-R is to G35 is like the 911 Turbo is to the 911 Carrera.
I know the GT-R is around the Cost of the Corvette in Yen, but you gotta remember, the R34 only has 280 hp. While they're aiming the GT-R @ 400hp. So for 400Hp, you can pay $116k for the 911 turbo, or you can get the $70k GT-R. I think that's Nissan's goal w/ the GT-R. That's all I'm saying.
If you think the Porsche pricing is not a good comparison, then how about the 325i for around $30k and the M3 for around $50k. For an addition .8L and 100+HP, you're paying an additional $20k. I can go on an on. My point is that for one of the best AWD system available and an additional 120 HP, i think an additional $30k is a fair price to ask.

I think you guys are crazy if you think Infiniti is going to bring a car here in the 70k range anytime soon. I dont think the the next gt-r will be any more than 60k fully loaded. And id expect it to start out at around 50k. Remember, Infiniti has been pricing all there cars very competitively.

Plus individual throttle bodies, very tricky vehicle dynamic controls, optional SMG, bigger wheels and tires, bigger brakes, lowered suspension, flared fenders, full body kit, etc etc etc. Regardless of any horsepower numbers on paper, it makes a helluva lot more sense for Infiniti to go after the Corvette, M3, S4, etc rather than the 911 in terms of pricing.
