The GT-R has never really cost more in yen than a Corvette costs in dollars.

Porsche's pricing structure is not really a good comparison--you can option up a 911 Carrera from a base price of $68k all the way up to almost $100k. A 911 Turbo starts at $116k and goes up to over $160k (and that's not for the GT2).
