Default Mini Cooper Convertible

"After its very successful introduction into the market, BMW is currently developing a Mini Cooper Convertible. Although too cold for top-down testing, this car was caught in the northern part of Scandinavia during the cold-weather test season. The all-too-cute cabrio is scheduled to hit European roads as early as summer of 2003. Dealerships here are hoping the cabrio will arrive before the 2004 model year ends."

Seems likely...but I bet it would suck for cargo space.

Do you feel that? That's the pack of thousands of girls stampeding towards the MINI dealership.

does the current one even have cargo space? the backseats are right by the rear window so i wouldn't think it would have much.

As though having no B pillar compensates for having the world's largest C-pillar.

There will be no cargo space that will be eaten up. The top will fold ontop of itself, which will make it look extremely ugly, but it will not compromise space. The setup will be similar to the Volkswagen New Beetle Convertibles folding top.

However, Mini is thinking of making a 2-passenger Speedster version that will have a receeding top and won't look ugly.

The Convertible will be offered in both base and S forms.
