Left lane gets the radar gun first.

Drivers in this country will always suck for as long as driving is viewed as a right rather than a privelege. Nothing we can do about that.

Just encourages the 'drift to the left, don't have to move for anyone' mentality.

Here in Texas we have this thing were a kid can get his license by doing drive time with his parents. Most parents just sign off, dont make the kids learn crap. They never get trained or anything. The kids thats get in the most wrecks are the kids that get their license via mom and dad. simple as that. my friends are living proof of that.

And as long as our populace drives fat, boaty, awkward vehicles with automatic transmissions, cruise control, and all the connectedness and steering response of a jello mold.

"Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Prohibits excessive use of the left lane of controlled access and other multilane highways except when certain conditions exist. Provides that a vehicle may not be driven to the left of another vehicle on those highways for a distance exceeding one-half mile. Provides that the prohibition does not apply to authorized emergency vehicles while using emergency lighting or to law enforcement vehicles engaged in official duties."
Germany has a similar law in effect most noteably for the autobahn

Welcome to Pennsylvania five years ago.
PA has a law like this THAT WAS JUST PASSED LAST YEAR (not 5 years ago). You cannot travel in the left lane for more than 2 miles or they can ticket you. Usually I'll give 'em about a mile before I get nasty with the highs or a horn. Sometimes if you just move a little left and throw on your left turn signal, they'll get the idea. If not, downshift, pull right then left (or on my bike, lean right/pull left, flick, lean left/pull right wave goodbye).
