V8 like torque, than yes, it needs to be big. 4.0+ liters. V8 like power, it doesn't need to big. Honda can easily build a 3.8L V6 with 250 foot pounds and 300-310 HP, that will only rev to about 6500-6800 RPMs.
True, I didnt clarify that. And well, torque is what matter for trucks.

The Pilot can tow a 3500 lb. trailer or a 4500 lb. boat. It is able to tow a boat of that girth because of the relatively sleek aerodynamics compared to a trailer.

Sucks that this truck fad will be over by then for sure.

Edit: I will be more than happy to see the truck fad end, i only mean it sucks that Honda is getting in so late and investing money in a senseless product segment that (fingers crossed) will be over and done in three years.

Dude, the trucks will always sell. Resale value of trucks has always been fairly high, even with a domestic badge on it. I don't think its a "senseless" product considering that trucks have much more utlity than SUVs. Most home owners who work on their house has or wished they had a truck. (I fall into the latter group) Like I said, sometimes I wish I had a pickup truck for my house improvement projects, but its hard to give up the 5 seating capacity of a regular car. This hybrid 4 door truck would be a great opportunity for people who actually wants the utility of a pickup truck on a part-time basis. There's not very many players out there selling enough of these things.

Now if you're talking about SUVs, that's a different thing.

If the truck fad is ending in 3 years then Ford and GM will be out of business in 10...please, the SUV thing will continue, the only thing that can stop it is high gas prices - but electric hybrids and alternative fuel will even cancel that out.
