Since when did Toyota add 18hp to Camry V6??
3.0-liter DOHC
24-valve V6
210 hp @ 5,800 rpm
220 lb.-ft. @ 4,400 rpm
This is straight from Toyota's site. Is this new for 2003? It now has VVT-i (ES300) engine.
Also now standard moonroof on the SE and XLE V6 models + standard power driver's seat on all models.
thanks
Sean
Looks like toyota is trying keep behind the new competition, until new 3.3 V6 arrives. I went over to lexus, and the ES300's HP is unchanged. I think there's gonna be a change somewhere, sooner or later.

Wow I didn't know until I saw this thread, and then I went to the Toyota website to make sure. Yes it is now using ES300's engine with 210hp. Although it's still behind Honda Accord and Nissan Altima and even Mazda 6, but much closer now. I doubt it if Camry is going to get the new 3.3L V6 soon, since Toyota want to differ ES300 from Camry further, just like Acura 3.2TL and Honda Accord V6.

I checked around, and it seems dealers do not have many V6's. Also, the V6 is not configurable at Toyota's site. One dealer i checked had 1 V6 out of 259 4cyl's. I dunno whats going on.

I actually appreciate you posting this as it's very pertinent, but I was trying to say that no matter how many horsepower they add, it's still got tons of body roll, a cushy ride, and the blandest interior in the industry...that is strangely reminiscent of Buick. We've been down that road before.
