Ahem, if you read my entire post, you'd have noticed that I pointed that out. That's what you get for replying without reading. Ha!

Thank you Captain Obvious. But they designed it, not GM.

Default Pontiac GTO Gets 350 Horsepower

Pontiac said on Tuesday that its new GTO will sport a mighty 350 hp when it goes on sale in limited numbers this fall. The LS1 V-8-powered GTO will make its 350 hp at 5200 rpm, and will churn out 365 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm — enough, Pontiac says, to push the 2004 GTO to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 14 seconds. Drivers will have a choice of automatic or six-speed manual gearboxes. GM says pricing should find the base GTO coming in at less than $35,000.

I think it looks great. Interior is awesome too. I'd consider one along side of the Z, G35C, and RX-8. Probably doesn't handle like the others, but v8's are yummy. Especially the 5.7.

Wow. That's about 50 more hp than was originally reported. Good job. That's mid-1990's Corvette territory. Man, this car is starting to make my mouth water a little. I need to find out reliability from Austrailian customers. Anyone know where to look?

Good posts, everyone. My post will be the downfall of this thread, but here it goes.

It actually looks damned good. It's amazing it takes a design outside of the United States to make GM have a genuinely good looking - dare I say sexy - vehicle (only exception is the Corvette).

GM deserves props for this vehicle. I'm glad the GTO name is back on a respectable car. I just hope the quality is of a high standard.
word

i REALLY like the GTO, however id rather have the Monaro face
