I can see how the new Sienna is a complete T&C/Odyssey/MPV ripoff. But then, we really can't expect any more from Toyota.

I do, however, see an unfortunate new Toyota styling cue. The taillights are connected to the rear windhsield as weird geometric offshoot designs on both the new RX330 and the Sienna. I mean, the integrated taillights into the C-pillar on the Focus Hatches and CR-V are alright, since they flow. This doesn't flow.

Or maybe it's part of Toyota's "weird so we think we're stylish" campaign.

I think this new Sienna flow better than the Odyssey. IF I would get a van based on look, this would probably be my first choice. Power wise, we'll see what Nissan can produce w/ the Quest. They did state they'll be the power leader in all classes. We'll have to wait and see. Interior quality wise, both Honda and Toyota are top notch anyways.

What do we have to wait for? They'll use a version of the VQ3.5L that makes a few more hp than the J35 in the Odyssey does.

I'm waiting for the exact figure. Then we'll see how the interior quality and size is w/ it.

I just dont see how Nissan adding a few hp here or there is going to make a difference. This is a friggin minivan, not a sports car.

With your argument, then we don't need all these HP in the midsize family sedan then. Why would Honda feel the need to match Nissan's 240HP w/ their new Accord then? Wasn't 200HP enough for a family sedan? It's not a sport car either. Isn't one of the Odyssey main selling point is that is has the most powerful engine in its class? That and it's size is what sets it apart isn't it?

anyways, a hp war is dumb. a performance war is not. difference there.

What's the difference? You judge a car's performance by speed and handling, right? How can you reach faster speed? Better gearing and HP, right? So why is a HP war is dumb but a performance war is not?

If manufacturers aren't trying to one up each other in HP, we probably won't be @ the level we are today. W/out Nissan claiming 240HP on the Altima, the accord probably is contempt w/ 220 or something. HP war is only good for us. Why would you be complaining that your car gets more power? I don't get it?
