Luxury Comparison Tests by Car and Driver
C&D is just being C&D.
they are writing that from a performance perspective, not by a value or a consumer perspective.
another thing is that the lexus will most likely be the most dependable vehicle on that list.
now i'm not saying that it deserves to be number one, it's just that C&D doesnt stand for "car and old guys who have alot of pension money to spend on a boat of a car"

Yes.
1. About the LS460 not being comfortable: "A comfortable ride, a quiet and scrupulously climate-controlled atmosphere, multiadjustable seating with Peltier cooling pads, and video entertainment with one of the best car stereos ever devised are at your disposal."
2. About wind noise (is English not your first language?): "sound levels are low enough inside that imperfect door seals on our preproduction vehicle produced wind noise that seemed hurricane-like in comparison."
That pretty much means the car is so quiet that some pre-production imperfections show up so readily. The fact that this car is pre-production (read: hand built) means that it's not reflective of production quality. They tend to be lower.

BMW is very pompous about anything they sell. Whether anyone likes it, it doesn't really matter to them. According to their logic, you'll buy it because it says BMW. If you don't like it, you're the incompetent fool not worthy of one of our cars.
Generally speaking, they can get away with that arrogance because their cars are that damn good. But in the case of iDrive, I'm not so sure.
iDrive is pretty terrible. It's not so much irritating to use, it's actually pretty simple. But there's so many menus and sub menus to go through to get to the dumbest crap that it makes it impossible to use while driving.
obviously you're not smart enough to drive a bmw then.
no, iDrive is retarded. bar none the dumbest thing i have ever seen.
you have to constantly look down at the controls to see where you are and still then it's an obstruction when accessing what used to be controlled by a simple knob or button.

The best navi/integrated vehicle operations still have basic, frequently used operations available separately. From what I've read (I've never acutally used iDrive), you have to go through an act of Congress just to adjust the radio volume or change the climate control temp.
