Well, the TL and probably even the Accord will not get their ass handed to them by a Camry or any of it's spinoffs such as ES350, Solara, Avalon because the Hondas still has more efficient drivetrains, higher gearing and more agressive transmissions. Not to mention the Hondas are available with 6 speed trannies. But on the other hand the Toyotas are much much smoother.

Remember, the Camry has 3.5L vs. 3.2l for the TL.

didn't the V6 camry take a huge hit from the new SAE standards anyway?

The old one did, the new camry is 268 new SAE

True, even if on paper the #'s have gone down. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual whp is more efficienct on the Honda/Acura's

it in fact did go down since the same 3.5L v6 debuted in the new avalon at 280hp, which is now rated down to 268hp.

Maybe, but the fact is that Honda is really slacking off in the engine department. For instance past gen Camry only had I believe 200 or 210hp and past gen TL-S had 260hp, but the new Camry actually has more HP than the new TL, and it's a shame really. The TL should have at least 300hp to stay competitive with G35 and IS350.
