268 hp in the V6 Camry ups the ante for Honda.

The 2007 Altima hasn't been shown yet. You need to see it before figuring out how Honda "needs" to respond.

I have to say I'm impressed with the design. it looks so much better than the current 7th gen accord. I'm hoping honda will be able to turn things around with the 8th gen and make it sportier and more powerful. the 7th gen sedan is so ugly
yeah but look at the new camery, it looks like a car honda would make, if you notice a lot of car companys are starting to make there cars to look like honda, i mean look at the tail lights on the camery, looks simillar to the ones from the 05 accord, look at hyundi there new sonta is a complete copy of the 05 accord.

Also to wit, Honda's been dealing with the Camry coming out a year before the new Accord for quite some time now. The 1997 Camry was a redo, then came the 1998 Accord which was new. Same for the '02 Camry, and the '03 Accord...and now the '07 Camry and '08 Accord.

I personally don't care much for camry, the only good thing about it is that it's Accords #1 competitor, and it will have nearly 270hp, so Honda will have to do one up on them and offer Accord with 298hp to stay competitive.

the new honda concept 4 is said to be a basis for the next accord... thing is, that doesn't mean the USDM accord. the concept 4 was shown with AWD possibilites, power, looks, the whole 9... but the USDM accord has to be geared toward fat lazy americans so the concept 4 will be the true Accord, 100 times greater than the one we get...the one everybody else in the world gets. just like what happened with the TSX. if honda ever comes out with a turbocharged, or just 300hp+ sedan, like the next gen TSX, with AWD i will most likely have to say goodbye to my EVO IX MR. if honda built the EVO, it would be a much better car. they should give it a shot

Moved here from another forum...it was initially in the Accord forum then moved to News & Rumors. It leaves a redirect for anybody who was following it.

My guess is that the Sport 4 concept shown in Tokyo will probably spawn both the new Accord (larger American version and JDM Inspire) and the second-generation Acura TSX (smaller European/JDM Accord).

The new TSX could use a variant of that new turbocharged 2.3-liter I-4 engine from the RDX.
