Four doors cars, they are.

G35 is over 30k for the most part, but its "luxury" oriented at a hint of sportiness. People here just don't have it in them to pay over 30k for a two door performance car that has a harsh ride unless it's also luxurious. Many two door coupes over20k had folded (well those were slow like slug, too).

If I can spend 30k, I would get a WRX (4 door!) and not a Celica/RSX/whatnot.

I believe that there will be adequete aftermarket support for these basic supercharger kits. they are a good starting point to gain extra power. i mean all it would really require is new injectors and a different sized pulley to push a little more boost (as conservative as this level of boost seems i'm going to make a hefty bet it can handle a higher CFM than they are giving it)

it comes with new injectors already. also how much more boost will depend on which super charger (size) they are using. for example on the mini cooper S JCW kit, they modified the supercharger (size) itself to push more boost effectively.

While I’m disappointed that Toyota scrapped the factory SC, I don’t think I can fault Toyota’s business thinking.

Why create expensive performance parts that need to be designed, tested, and manufactured at a higher margin then the wad of Scion “appearance accessories” already available?

the idea behind scion is that you have a cheaper car to start with that you can add cool things onto.. this is just one of those things.

going back to the tC SC it seems like a complete setup designed for reliability.
Cause you can't. It's just your own stupid opinion. Performance car is an arbitrary classification open to any reasonable interpretation. For the Civic Si you could make an arguement either way, they did plenty of things on it they didn't need to do for the average non-enthusiast to buy it. There's a blurry line between a performance and non-performance car.

I'm inclined to go with Rick's interpretation though. A performance/sports car is something the really makes few compromises and is at home being flogged on a track/auto-x course/backroad.

no i didn't want to waste typing a whole thing on why a civic is not a performance car and get into an argument with someone who was looking for one in a thread for tC SC.

so you think it's just my own stupid opinion? then you have some more learning to do in the world. performance car is not an arbitrary classification, if you believe that you need to be banned again.

How is it not an arbitrary classification? I'm sure Mike's EF hatch was never really meant to be a performance car, just like the new Civic Si you talk about, but look at how effective a race car is makes with little things done to it. If it isn't arbitrary, please define it.

i can spend $3K and make an old plymouth minivan run 12s in the 1/4mi that doesn't make it a performance car.

Mike's EF is not a performance car. He made some changes to make it handle better and he is a great driver which is 95% of his sucess with the car.

i'm done with this stupidity from you. If you think a Civic si/etc (R models excluded as i stated above) is a peformance car, then keep on thinking that and live in your little world.
