2009 Dodge Challenger - for all the "a Charger should be a coupe" complainers
The W210 E-Class came out in 1996.
The Chrysler LX platform is an, um, "adaptation" of the Mercedes W210 platform.
If you think about it though, plenty of vehicle platforms last long times with refreshes and updates at some point or another. The same basic architecture that started out in the 1988 Civic made its way all the way up to the 2001 Integra, for example. The current Honda global midsize platform (Accord, TSX, TL, etc) still has a lot in common with the 1990 Accord. Plenty of other companies do this too.

If thats what it ends up looking like, then Ford dealers are gonna take a simeltanious dump in their pants.
The Challenger photo-chop isnt nessecarily great design, but it has emotional appeal, and looks scary. This is the Ted Bundy of automobiles.

i think that the platform will eventually be called something else, though based ont he LX those mior adjuastments they will be doing is probably going to end up completely redesigning the platform just for this one car... think of it as the CRX of crystler land
