Yep. I wasn't even 21 at the time, but the person I knew told me he could get me in if I wanted a job...... stamping fenders...... all day........ every day.......

$17.50/hr to start for a 20 year old guy is pretty damn tempting, even if it is a monotonous job. I suppose it's a good thing they went on strike about a week after I first started thinking about it

It's a car job, can't they think of ways to make it interesting for the workers? Like make a race track behind the factory, and just let employees take some newer cars and race the heck out of it. Or some good tracks and just let employees drive 100 MPH to "test" out the new cars (of course this new car, after all the driving, would not be sold to the public), I am sure this would put a smile on every face (I am not kidding).

It's a job, not an amusement park. Running a track is prohibitively expensive. Think of the tires, fuel, maintenance, emergency services, and tons of other stuff that go into running a race track and cars for it. And factory jobs are meant to monotonous and repetitive so the likelihood of you screwing up is low.

It's a GM product h:

I saw somewhere that this in combination with some other promotions means you could get an Aero for ~$19K or something like that

Regardless, the employee price deal applies to all Saabs. According to GM's info page, the program applies to every Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, GMC, Oldsmobile (I guess some of em are still around in dealer inventory?), Saturn, Hummer and Saab. No Corvettes or Subarus.

Well no, since Subaru isn't a GM brand.

But the Employee Discount, plus the Hot Button Cash, plus the $7000 rebates, plus the 2 years of free maintenence make the Saab 9-2X Aero a much better buy now than the Impreza WRX Wagon.

Meh... I made my choice and I'm happy with it.
